This and That

Jim - The Shack

So, GG is still tearing out her hair after the fiasco of the new mobile phone.

It won’t sync with my computer and it is making life hell.

However, when it comes to great customer service, Jim at The Shack is awesome.

In fact, everyone tends to mention that when you mention the business.

Anyway, I did not throw the phone against the wall like I wanted and managed to see a whole lot of Fawnskin Folks come in go while in there.

I told them I should have been added to the payroll with all the time spent in the place.

Anyway, speaking of making life hell, there are a few things happening around town.

Chip Seal Project

How did you enjoy the unprofessional deliver of the chip seal project notices?

GG was plain grumpy over it. Most of my neighbors had the notices put on a railing or weird location weighted down my a rock.

Folks are wondering why they didn’t deliver via the USPS.

Anyway, the road improvement project, Chip Seal & Fog Seal will take place beginning next week, June 10, 2013 through June 20, 2013.

The project work will be done from 8:00am until 4:00pm Monday through Friday.

Watch for the “no parking” signs during this time.

Public access will be limited and residents are being asked to not park on roadways, to refrain from hosing down the areas, and to keep all trash cans and other items off the roadway

If you have any questions or concerns, you can call Jim Dibel, the Dept. of Public Works yard supervisor here in Big Bear at (909) 866-2167.

Marina Day Captain John's Fawn Harbor & Marina

Marina Day

In 1928, the word “marina” was used for the first time by the National Association of Engine and Boat Manufacturers to define a recreational-boating facility.

Ever since then, marinas have been an integral part of not only American recreation, but also American life.

Captain John’s Fawn Harbor and Marina invites you to drop by on June 8th 2013 to celebrate Welcome to the Water on National Marina Day.

Captain John’s Fawn Harbor has planned the following events:
Boating Safety Class 9:00am and 11:00 AM
Quagga Muscle Information Class 10:00am
Facility Tours All Day
Paddle Races 3:00 PM
Vendors 11:00am to 4:00pm
Live Music Noon to 4:00pm
Picnicking All Day

Captain John’s Fawn Harbor and Marina is going green and serves as a gateway to boating for customers and their visitors, as a boater-education center teaching safe and clean boater practices, as an environmental steward protecting our waters, and finally providing a family-friendly location united for a shared passion for the water.

Serena Saunders said, “Thank you for your time and for your business. Without you, the customer, our business would not exist. As you know, my door and my phone line are always open. So, please let me know if I can ever answer any questions about our services. I look forward to celebrating Welcome to the Water on National Marina Day with you and to serving you in the future.”

Watch for the scheduled events at Fawn Harbor including the July Fourth Celebration, Captain John’s Paddle Palooza in August and Labor Day Shin Dig!
