Doo Dah 2013

Better late than never GG always says.
Been crazy around these parts but I am finally back home and getting settled in is taking a long while…but that is a story for another time.

If you missed the Doo Dah Parade and festival, I thought I’d share a few snaps.

Now GG didn’t even want to go but the pressure to once again document the happenings around Fawnskin was too much. In the end, I ambled down muttering all the way.

That ended up being a good decisions because it made me smile and I had a swell time of it.

Plus, I got to connect with a whole lot of folks that I have not seen in ages.

My favorites this year were the kids and I loved the crazy gal on the “horse.”

She was having a good time for sure.

This year Captain John dominated the parade, not only was he Grand Marshall, but his daughter and grand-daughter were also out making a splash (no pun intended) and if that were not enough, his BOBS (Babes on Boards) were also marching to their own beat.

Winners of the trophies were the Women of the Moose and the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce Auxiliary who were tossing out popcorn to the crowds.

The whole town turned out and had a lot of fun mobbing the vendors, listening to music and eating.

I headed down to Fawn Harbor to listen to live music and enjoy the watching the water sports activities.

While I was there, the Guzman’s little chihuahua won first place at the dog show…so there won’t be any living with that little gal.

Come to think of it, the whole family tends to be pretty high profile around here and it is a bit quiet when they are gone.

I have more to share on Thursday but I hope you enjoyed my summary of the big weekend event as much as I enjoyed being there.
