Fourth of July

July 4th Big Bear

In case you have forgotten, this week marks the anniversary of the Fawnskin Flyer!

It is hard to believe that GG has been doing this for eight years now.

When people ask about it, I tell ’em it started as a joke.

If you need a reminder you can read about the silly beginning here.

It has been fun, cathartic and somewhat of an adventure with ups and downs.

I still am at it, usually twice a week, and the 4th of July is time to celebrate another year!

This weekend lots is happen around here.

Moose Lodge 2085 Yard Sale & BBQ

The 4th of July weekend is a great one for heading down to Moose Lodge 2085.

Starting Thursday, July 4th at 9am the annual yard sale will be happening down at the lodge.

There is usually a lot of treasures to be had and the event runs through Saturday when the spit BBQ happens.

For $9.00 you can get a great meal usually the food is ready between 3 and 4 pm.

Captain John’s Fawn Harbor & Marina 4th of July

Lots of people are heading over to Captain John’s Fawn Harbor & Marina for the day. Grab you food to BBQ and head on down.

The DJ DAnny Crucial will kick off the party around 11am followed by the reggae group, Elevated Roots.

It is first come first serve for the rentals but the picnic area is awesome and there is beach front for lounging and swimming too.

GG is heading down, hope to see you there too!

Parking is $10 and all are welcome to join the fun.

Lemonade Stand Special

Robin & JJ will be serving up their delicious lemonade this weekend.

I headed down to the main drag to see what time they would be setting up so I could grab a cup–since I’ve been missing out.

They anticipate being out there around 11am on Thursday and perhaps other times through the weekend but keep in my their schedule depends on the adult plans as well.

GG is thinking of staking out the area so she doesn’t miss a cup.

NSIA July Potluck

Once again it is time for the monthly potluck with the North Shore Improvement Association. This time it takes place Monday, JULY 8, 2013 at 5:30pm for the social and 6:00pm for dinner.

Bring a dish to share and join in the fun and evening of good food, interesting folks, and fun conversation while enjoying our beautiful lake and mountain views.
