Fun & Fundraising in Fawnskin

bigbearpottery

So, GG’s been having a bit of fun. I am out and about.

Last week I got to enjoy the Farmer’s Market as well as a marathon trip down the hill with the infamous Chris McCormick of Big Bear Pottery.

It was good to get out and be social but I’ll spare you the details and only say it was too much fun.

He will be exhibiting at Art on the Lake (August 17-18, 2013) so you can grab some of his wonderful creations there.

This last weekend I was able to attend Blues for the Zoo and spend time with a lot of my favorite Big Bear pals including my 3 year-old pal (and fan) Jade.

Blues for the Zoo 2013

She makes my heart happy and puts a smile on my face every time.

Getting over to Blues for the Zoo was not much fun. The Tour de Big Bear had everything in a state of chaos but in the end, I made it with time to spare.

One of the perks of the race was the discovery of Arlene of GoLOCO and GG wants one of her sets that is coming out soon called Buddha Bloom, of course that means I have to actually get on a bike, and then there is figuring out the sizing as I shrink back to normal size.

If you want me to get it, GG says you can leave a tip ( in the sidebar) or just go like her page and buy me the set. *wink wink*

Arlene of GoLOCO

Arlene is also pretty darn smart, you see she had a raffle to get all the info from anyone entering AND you have to like her GoLOCO Facebook page to get special deals.

Although I was drooling all over the booth, I managed to fill out the form without incident and to also “like” her page.

Maybe she’ll remember me for Christmas…

I also liked the Tough Chik booth slogan. LOL

Okay, okay…

Back at home, I am still working on the construction dust and clean up.

Eesh.

I’ve had to clean from the top of the walls down.

Dust is everywhere but by the time I finish things will be sparkling.

The Hepa filters are on the way and let’s hope the doc has good news because I really don’t want to have to move.

So far the results seem to indicate that I can stay, but if that has been the reason for six years of mystery illness, and my doc says I need to move, I will.

Indications make me think I me be okay but I just have to get some of the flood zone flooring up and out to make sure.

Things on the party perch and GG’s Grotto are pretty amazing but I can’t afford to be sick any longer.

Cross your fingers for good luck but keep your eyes out for options in the worst case scenario.

GG & The SUP

GG is now the proud owner of a watercraft season pass and expects to be out on the water just about any day she can.

All work and no play has been bad for me and I mean to fix that.

People have been commenting on my increased activity and all I can say is that it is good to be recovered enough to be able to function at least some.

Now I just have to get that stamina back…my legs wobble but I don’t fall down!

Lemonade in Fawnkin

Here in Fawnskin the lemonade stand was doing great, the gals have established a bustling local business.

So much in fact that the girls brought up their friend to handle the crowds.

This time I was able to watch the quality control as they made the lemonade.

They used a hand juicer, carefully measured the ingredients, and then sliced up some strawberries for some added color when serving.

The trio split the proceeds which just keep getting bigger every time they open.

But don’t be fooled, they are not all work and no play…they frolicked on the lake and even got to have a late night trip to Starbucks.

Starbucks Rewards

GG got to go along and has to say that the noise volume from the laughter was amazing–it drowned just about everything else out.

Being around nice kids has its advantages, it makes you slow down and remember what is important in life.

Okay, now for the happenings around town…
