Mold Move

The mold move countdown has begun.

GG was out of town for a few days and now the clock is ticking.

In between working, packing and traveling, I have been doing some research into the mold.

Sadly, there is a lot of misinformation out there.

In the above video, things get a bit more technical and the reality is that only a few doctors specialize in mold recovery.

Although getting out of the environment where there is mold is a first step, the damage takes a while to address.

Moving out of the environment helps about 15-20% and the rest involves integrative medicine.

Alas, the newest information indicates more testing is likely going to have to occur.

One thing for sure, I am glad I fired the doctor who as telling me it was all in my head.

Homeless in Fawnskin

Around town it has been abnormally quiet.

A few locals have noticed that the homeless person has been moving around town and is now living under the bridge on Grout Creek.

It is pretty cold out so it is a surprise to discover a tent and supplies here and there.

So far, GG has seen this person in four different locations–although I have never seen the person.

As far as I know, we don’t have any homeless shelter areas anywhere in the valley.

There are homeless in Big Bear however. One guy has been reported as living in the woods for over 10 years.

Must be one hearty type of being.

Tickle's Sister

Tickle the Cat had a sister and a brother roaming around town.

Both boys met their demise but Tickle’s sister lives down at the junction of Chickasaw and Illini.

She was supervising the apple picking over at Stan’s house last week and I captured her on camera.

Although she used to come by daily, she has taken a liking to Stan, who happens to be kind to a few felines.

She won’t come up to me but she sure responds to him.

North Shore Tavern has been seeing a lot of activity lately.

The Tavern has not been sold but the property next to it has. I have the scoop and can fill you in on Thursday.

Finally, “Boy” came by to see me today and let me know that his parents got him out of jail.

I was so glad to see him with a collar and his happy self strutting around the deck and garden.

He came in for a short while and then decided that it wasn’t a good idea and asked to go right back out.

Seems he did not like the jail experience and suddenly remembered that I put him there once he got in the house.

GG simply did not want him to get injured by the mountain lion but alas, he doesn’t get that.

So, I am off for a short walk and there is not much to say and I have to get back to packing…catch you later in the week.

I’ve never met you but sorry to hear you are leaving. Glad to hear you finally found out what is wrong with you. Sounds like you have a good doctor. Glutathione Nasal Spray from a compounding pharmacy is supposed to help. Good luck.

Thanks Margaret. Yes, mixed feelings about it all. I found a temporary situation on the North Shore but won’t be in Fawnskin central any more. I appreciate the suggestion to Glutathione nasal. I didn’t know about the absorption issues until you posted. Not sure about all the treatment options yet but likely to be fairly involved.

Thanks for the note Jay, yes it is sad but since I found more mold, it is the best thing to do to recover. Rentals are few around here so I’ll be content on the North Shore until I decide what to do.
